Thank you for visiting my website to get to know more about me as I explore a bid to challenge Dianne Feinstein for the United States Senate seat from California in 2012.

Just like everyone else my story starts where I was born and raised, in my case that was Dallas, Texas.  It's where I attended public and private Catholic schools and I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies. But home is where the heart is and my heart belongs to California's future.

As far as my family background goes, on my father's side of the family our roots date back to the Native American Choctaws and Spanish immigrants who settled in the Louisiana Territory. I also have ancestors of Mexican heritage on both sides and French immigrants on my Mother's side of the family. When you take all these halves together I like to say that's how you make a whole All-American.

In terms of my professional background, my career covers a nearly two decade record of sales management success in the telecommunications industry. I started working after graduating from college in 1992 at AT&T and it built the foundation for me to go on to hold deal winning roles with Sprint, Verizon and Qwest. As the industry changed I played key leadership roles with major companies that revolutionized the way businesses and consumers use the Internet but, without a doubt one of my most notable experiences was working on the preparation of a successful IPO for a first generation dot com company called FlashNet.

Moving on from FlashNet I was promoted to a senior management post with Samsung. My principal responsibility at Samsung was managing the nationwide network build out of a last mile fixed wireless network. While at Samsung I was lucky to work in Seoul, South Korea on the development of new wireless products, in some cases these products are just becoming available today.

It was my career that first brought me to California in 1997 on a regular basis to support clients and I've been living and working in L.A. County since 2002. As many things happen by chance in business I also had the chance when I arrived in California to provide telecommunications services to Criminal Justice Agencies across the country. In this capacity I also supported efforts by the Department of Homeland Security to secure the process to deport those here illegally. The services implemented were also specifically used to uphold the rights of victims, enforce the due process of law and prevent or solve crimes. Today I continue to live in Santa Monica working with tech oriented start-ups and turn around organizations.

I firmly believe in the American Dream, and to me "the American Dream is a promise that every generation can do better than the one before". This is why I encourage, support and have sought opportunities for public service over the past 20 years at the local and state levels, and most recently I was a candidate for the US Senate from California in 2010.  Thru my own experiences in public service the single greatest lesson I have learned is, "you never lose when you serve your country" and there is no greater country than the United States of America.

Hopefully you've enjoyed my story and I invite you to join me in working to put California and our country back on the right track
.

Thanks again,

Al Ramirez
